TU Darmstadt, Germany / Internship / May 2013 – June 2013

The project concentrated on the area of flexible work spaces, which is about enabling employees with a greater control of their work-life balance to deliver better results. By employing various methods of primary research, the team worked on identifying the issues and needs in the current context (IAD) and find areas where design can intervene to make life better for the employees. The goal of the project was to reduce the impact of various factors on the employees’ life, thereby increasing their productivity and efficiency. My solution, SWITCH solves this problem by reducing the rates by which a visitor or a call can potentially effect user’s productivity and efficiency during the work hours in IAD. Each user is given a switch and each switch is connected to the phone (shared by 4 users) and a display kept outside the room.
